| A sidebar is highlighted space set aside on the right side of the web page. It is used to draw attention to particular pieces of information or images. On the home page, it can be used to announce upcoming events, news items, or provide links to information located deeper in the website.
A sidebar can contain text or images. You can also set it up to "expire" at a certain date and time, so that it will automatically disappear from the website.
